Ingredients for
Judy's Steak Teriyaki

  • 1 1/2 lb sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup soya sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or you can use half water to be healthier
  • 2 Tbsp dry wine wine or wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 sliced sweet pepper


How to Make
Judy's Steak Teriyaki

  1. Cut beef across grain to 1/8 inch slices, 
  2. Mix soya sauce, oil, wine, sugar, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Stir in beef, coating each slice
  4. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour 
  5. Drain beef, reserving marinade
  6. Cook beef in fry pan until light brown
  7. Add sliced green peppers (optional)
  8. Add enough cold water to reserved marinade to measure 1/2 cup
  9. Shake marinade/water mixture and cornstarch in tightly covered container and stir gradually into beef
  10. Heat to boiling then reduce heat
  11. Simmer uncovered 5 min.

 

Notes

I put this dish on a bed of rice and like to serve it with peas on the side.
